The day will begin with a hike up the stepped path of high basalt rock walls, taking about 15 minutes to reach the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall, where you can swim or simply take pictures and enjoy its beauty. Lunch is the next step, a delicious traditional meal will be waiting for you in our restaurant "La Finquita", near the center of La Fortuna. After lunch, you will have time to rest or hang out in the city, before starting the volcano hike. We will choose one of several trails through the rainforest and cross paths of solidified lava from the massive 1968 eruption. We will observe a variety of plants, animals, and rock formations. At the top of the trail, we will have an incredible view of Lake Arenal. Our hike will end at a viewpoint where weather permitting, you will be able to see a small vapor of pyroclastic gases emerging from the fissures at the top of the volcano. Throughout the hike, your guide will share interesting information about the history of the majestic volcano and its impact on the region. After the walk, your body will need a rest and your energy will have to be restored, so we offer you another extra activity, you can book a 2-hour visit to the relaxing hot springs, it will be the perfect way to close your day, before return to your hotel.
